    Let me start by saying your videos are consistently great for both production quality and content and I'm so grateful for the resource you provide. However, could I make an offer/request: seated or chair-based versions of ALL stretches. SO MANY of us cannot get down on the floor, even if we have the space. (And I'd wager not many of us have massage tables free standing in our homes. A bed isn't always a reliable option either. And we're not always at home as well.) Also, there are many of us who cannot lay flat, also for medical reasons. Having alternate options at least discussed if not shown would be beneficial for those of us who need to make adjustments but aren't sure if that'll still remain effective. And for me, personally, being told to put my hands behind my head or neck & having my elbows enclosing my head/face at any point is a trauma trigger in addition to being painful for my hands/wrists due to medical issues with those as well. It's super frustrating to look at a lot of this and know I can't do that in my space, consistently or without seriously aggravating another issue, but also not know how best to safely adjust. Seeing the things I can't do so often is depressing and not supportive of motivation to keep trying. Also, I'd LOVE to see you do some videos discussing the potential pros/cons of using a massage gun (there are milder heads/speeds than most people immediately think of with these devices, curious if vibration plates are good, would a massage gun also have beneficial applications?), TENS/EMS use or even massage therapy in general (are there modalities beyond targeted MLD that could be helpful, what to do/not do or to discuss with a massage therapist if you're getting "normal" or deep tissue massages for relaxation or other issues etc. Thank you for considering my feedback and for the work you do. So very many of us cannot access sufficient personal/local providers (the staffing shortages and insurance barriers are significant) and the need for this solid, experienced information is (sadly) greatly needed.

      Hi! Thank you so much for kindly sharing this request and feedback. 🙂 I appreciate it this as it helps me bring resources that you all are looking for. To clarify your request, are you asking specifically about the stretches I share for breast cancer recovery? I have a few seated exercise videos for lymphedema for those looking for that, too

    • @ruthwolf1958
      @ruthwolf1958 13 часов назад

      @@CancerRehabPT And thank YOU for the reply! I've found most of your lymphedema videos already & do very much appreciate your seated ones (please keep that option going with those! And the new dry brushing video with narration is GREAT--although lighter clothing would have made it easier to see the brush. That brush is also awesome! A friend sent me one for my birthday & it's amazingly more effective + comfortable.) While I do need to consider lymphedema issues as well (result of BC treatment), yes, I'm currently focused on BC recovery, post-surgery + post radiation, dealing with likely fibrosis of both breast and radiation field muscles/tendons (plus the changes happening to all that as a result of hormone suppression therapy as well. Wondering how that type of medication therapy can impact both my lymphedema issues/risk + how it might change what I need for management etc.) And I would have LOVED knowing about you & having seated options when I was immediately post-op/closer to actual surgery. I think my recovery would have been much better. My medical team sent me home with nothing but truly inadequate discharge instructions. I wish I could afford many of the programs you offer & I'm trying to save for some of them (treatment costs have been substantial & I do need to eat/pay rent) because although I've had some access to a good PT specialist, there are significant lacks and gaps in these very broken, overburdened systems. Videos like yours help fill some of that in. Help with learning the basics, terms, what questions to ask to get the most out of any appointments etc. But keeping in mind/acknowledging potential co-morbidities and other challenges, giving equally effective alternative options, explaining what you should be feeling/what to avoid so you can evaluate if an alternative is working OK, would make them even better. (For me personally, it's a super-symptomatic hiatal hernia, problematic knees/hips/hands & sometimes balance issues + I live in very tight quarters, where walls & doorways are also difficult at best to use. All that makes floor or flat work, or using my hands in certain ways impossible to achieve.) I've noticed you DO do this sometimes or partially, and in fact, you're one of the few I've seen actually talk about some of the practical daily realities of dealing with these things. I've always thought that PRACTICALITY is the key to compliance. Finding ways to fit what's necessary into REAL daily life. I also realize there are probably limits to optimal video lengths. But thank you for doing what you can and for listening!

    Outstanding as always!! I watch all of your videos Kelly because they are useful for other reasons too. As you said, many of us have postural issues. In my case, these stretches help open my shoulder spaces and markedly relieve the “-itis” pain occurring there. What you do is wonderful and your patients are fortunate to have you. Btw, someone’s very pretty hair is getting really long! 😉 It looks great and looks great shorter too. Thanks for the hard work Kelly! I hope you’re having a good summer.

    Nice video. A couple of questions. I will be starting the bandaging phase soon, with moderate to severer fibrosis. If it's 4 or 5 weeks of bandaging. Roughly, how often should the bandaging be changed per week? I have to drive myself to and from the appointments. (15 miles each way) What type of bandaging is best if I need to be mobile? (I don't have any shoes that will fit over the bandaging as demonstrated in this video) Mainly one pair of slip-on shoes will fit as of right now. Are Velcro wraps a better alternative for me? Thank you for your videos. They are very helpful.

    Hello I'm new to this and i have a question. My daughter has been diagnosed with this as well as thyroid issues. Her weight went up suddenly and her legs and feet are swollen. She has one of those boots for her legs. I noticed your video about swollen abdomin. Could her abdomin be swollen with some fluid not just fat? All the swelling in her arms face and neck can that be fluid too? Thank you for your response.

    How do you do this if your lymphatic system is compromised?? I don't know whether the lymph nodes in my groin are affected by the pelvic radiation treatment I'm receiving. I had 9 pelvic nodes removed during radical hysterectomy and the gynea pelvic region is in the radiotherapy field. No one has said that the groin is in the radiation treatment area but im concerned about pushing too much lymph fluid towards this region while it is not functioning properly. I wish I knew how to protect against lemphedema in this situation

    Thank you for bringing up this area. I had 9 pelvic nodes removed during radical hysterectomy and am now receiving pelvic radiation treatment. I'm not sure if compression would be suitable for the duration of treatment and I'm hoping the fluid will subside after I fully recover from surgery. I ordered a mini trampoline and walk every day. I also do pelvic floor therapy including deep belly breathing and gentle yoga with a focus on legs and pelvis. I would like to know the results of studies on lymph flow after pelvic nodes removed and/ or pelvic radiation so I can be sure which direction to massage or brush 🙏

  • @JGalegria

  • @JGalegria

    What does the study show for people who have pelvic lymph nodes removed? I know you know other people are at risk of developing lymphedema because of a compromised lymphatic system, but this video is presented and labelled as though "this community" is a homogeneous group of women with lymph nodes removed after breast cancer surgery.
